Decking

Garden Decking Installation in Nuneaton

Decking lives or dies by what's underneath it. We build a proper joist frame on concrete footings or deck blocks, ventilated and set to fall away from the house, before a single board goes down — whether that's a simple ground-level platform or a raised deck under a timber-framed shelter.

Questions

Decking FAQs

Composite or timber decking — what's the difference in upkeep?

Composite boards need an occasional clean but no staining or oiling; timber decking looks fantastic but needs re-treating every year or two to stay that way.

Do you lay decking straight onto grass or soil?

No — every deck gets a sub-frame on footings or deck blocks with a weed-suppressant membrane underneath, even for low-level platforms.

Can decking go right up to the house?

Yes, with the deck level set below the damp-proof course and a small drainage gap kept against the wall.
